Hello Peeps,
It was a great baseball season and I am happy that the NY Yankees won. As a RedSox fan I have no problem making that statement. Unlike other RedSox fans, I like to see any owner who is willing to spend the money and do whatever it takes to win, actually win. The reason why I waited a few days to make any comments because I was waiting to see the comments that Yankees bought the World Series. Well, guess what, at least the ownership had the ball bag to put their money out and do what it took to bring the World Series home.
Personally, I still do not like the deals that they cut for Burnett, Sabathia, and Teixeira long term but short term, they all did just fine this year. But this is what winning organizations do, they needed pitching and a first baseman and what did they do, they went out and filled those positions with the best people available. Did the La Angels of Anaheim at Baltimore do that when they needed an outfielder, hell no their cheap ass owner went out and paid bargain basement pricing for Abreu, how did that waste of a player do this Post Season… This is why the Angels will never win a World Series, the owner simply does not have the ball bag to do what needs to be done to win a World Series. Sorry Angels fans, nothing but love for you, but your owner sucks, I bet you wish you had the Steinbrenners as owners. Look at the Red Sox, JR. GM went out of his way to signup a bunch of role players and thought he could win a World Series without any prime time players, welcome to not winning a single game in the post season. Take a good hard look at that Yankee team Jr. GM, they have Prime Time Players, they won key games on the strength of a single bat, just that they had so many Prime Time Players that it was a different bat or arm that came thru… Role Players do not win World Series, ask the Phillies, they saw one player, Matsui beat them to death like a hunter killing a baby seal.
Again Congratulations to the NY Yankees, you played as a team, you played hard, and you played to win throughout your entire organization. You should not be reviled, but should be held in honor, this is how a team should win a World Series.
